Vacuum & Cryogenics Workshop
On 29 October, the Interreg project COMET is organising a workshop on vacuum and cryogenic technology at the University of Twente for Dutch and German companies and research institutions. The focus will be on the technological challenges of the Einstein Telescope, including ultra-high vacuum, cryogenic cooling and vibration damping.
Gideon Koekoek, Associate Professor of Physics, will give an introduction to the Einstein Telescope and the technologies required. Following this, companies, researchers and technology experts will discuss specific challenges, exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for joint R&D projects. The afternoon will conclude with a networking reception and an optional laboratory tour.
R&D collaboration via COMET
The Interreg project COMET supports cross-border R&D collaboration between Dutch and German SMEs and research organisations. During the workshop, it will be explained how COMET helps in finding partners and developing projects. Funding of up to €75,000 is available for participating SMEs.
